History of the BioMat

Nearly two decades ago, during global economic changes,
Calvin and Jeanna Kim purchased a jade mine strictly for its jewelry value as wholesalers. Many buyers were seeking jade in a powder form.

The Kim's learned that a medical device company called RichWay Korea, was using the powder in the manufacturing of its medical mats. Adventurous and struggling with several health challenges of his own, Calvin Kim tried one of the Jade mats and experienced first-hand, the powerful health benefits that the mat could provide.

In 1997, the Kim's took full ownership of the medical device company and its laboratory, and RichWay International was born. The promotion of the Jade BioMat was launched as a network company for international sales. In addition, the Kim's developed other products, also health-related, namely the: Alkal-life water ionizer and the Rejuvena facial system. |

Meanwhile research continued exploring the Infrared, Negative Ion, and Crystal technologies the BioMat utilizes.
After three years of research, it was discovered that the main benefit was not from heat provided by the Infrared technology, but rather from the “vibration energy” that the Infrared Ray provides. RichWay’s Research Department went onto study the energy spectrum of the healthiest and most natural frequencies for Infrared Rays and Negative Ions. |

From this research, the BioMat technologies were updated to include two types of infrared waves.
One type is referred to as a “photon” infrared wave, at 6.5 microns. The other is a “phermo” infrared wave, which ranges from 9 to 12 microns. |

The research also involved studying the exact content of abundant negative ions in our natural atmosphere, such as a vibrant virgin forest. RichWay’s research led to the healthiest sources for the human body - the Amethyst Crystal. |

Unlike other forms of Infrared Ray and energetic frequency, the energetic spectrum of Amethyst, showed how similar the frequency was to our human body. Amethyst is well-known as “the peace stone.” |

In 2001, RichWay introduced a single and queen-sized Amethyst BioMat to the marketplace.
Amethyst crystals must be hand-mined and hand-fed into each of the BioMats and this led to overwhelming labor! This resulted in very expensive BioMats to construct. |

Soon after, the California Massage Association requested a special order for 3,000 Amethyst BioMats specially-designed for massage tables.
This investment produced the impetus for RichWay to invest in their own Amethyst Crystal mine. This led to greatly reducing the cost of the Amethyst BioMat, making them much more affordable for everyone. |

In 2004, RichWay International partnered with FujiBio Science in Japan. This leading company excels in product development, has extensive labs, ample manpower, and a very strong position in the world marketplace, all in alignment with RichWay’s commitment to product improvement and innovations for a healthier world. |
In 2009, a Japanese MD published “The Fourth Treatment for Medical Refugees – thermotherapy in the new century”.

In 2011, Dr. George Grant PhD from Toronto, published his first Biomat Study on 'Stress Management' in the International Journal of Aesthetic and Anti-Ageing Medicine. The article is currently reproduced in Prime Journal Magazine & is available for distributors and their clients through Richway.

In 2012, RichWay International celebrated its 15-year anniversary!
In spite of difficult worldwide tough economy, sales have increased. Mr. Kim believes this is due to the BioMat’s ability to assist with health challenges such as pain and stress management. For many, the health benefits make the BioMat worth its weight in gold! |

In late 2012, RichWay International's manufacturing facility moved to the eleventh floor penthouse of the beautiful ACE High-End Tower in Seoul, Korea.
This upgraded area provides RichWay a total of 25,000 square feet - for a variety of manufacturing processes. The exciting new space will allow RichWay to increase and improve their production levels for the future.

By 2013, the Biomat’s popularity had grown exponentially within the Chinese market
and a new division with warehousing was set up to cater to this market.

In 2013, Improvements were made to the entire BioMat production line.

In 2014, With continued product improvements, RichWay and Fuji Bio Inc. merged in 2014.

Also in 2014, The Quantum Energy Pad {QEP}was launched as an ‘add-on’ to the Biomat experience for comfort & health benefits.

RichWay received an honorary award from the United Nations for the BioMat and its contribution to humanity for peace, health, and culture. |

Later in 2015, The Rejuvena Facial Care was re-introduced and upgraded with red infrared light.
From January 2016 forward, the Biomats shipped within China will be marketed as the Biomattress.
The CVC regulations required a maximum temperature of 140°F/60°C so the Biomattress’ temperature
range will be 77°F / 25°C – 140°F / 60°C. The Biomattress is the only RichWay product sold in China.
A new Service Center has also been established in China. Staff at this location and in South Korea may
assist you with any of your shipping inquiries to China. YTO Express is Richway’s selected shipping
carrier in China.

All BIOMATS now have alternating rows of tourmaline and amethyst. The Added TOCA layer from years previous remains in the Biomat.
And now, to increase the negative ion output even more, the amount of black tourmaline has been increased to about half the crystal portion of each Biomat. Through extensive research, it has become clear that adding tourmaline is the most effective way to increase the output of negative ions. Adding a tourmaline layer significantly enhances the emission of negative ions. Increasing the output of negative ions, as it is currently done, enhances the beneficial effects of the Biomat. |
